How to design a good street? What do you think?

How to design a good street? What do you think? To design a good street, there should be no trash on the street. Garbage is a shortcut to ruining the street. Therefore, trash cans should be supplied to make the streets more pleasant. In fact, in Japan, there are many trash cans on the road, so the overall amount of garbage dumped on the floor is small. And to make a better street, we need to grow nature. Only when the street is as pleasant as the amount of trash mentioned earlier can it eventually grow a good street. So I have to plant and take care of many flowers and trees. Finally, streetlights should be distributed on the streets. No matter how good a street is, scary streets and lightless streets at night are too much for people to use. Therefore, safety should be increased to create such streets that people can visit and use more frequently.

Week 3 extra) What can we learn from a breaching experiment?

What can we learn from a breaching experiment?  We were able to observe many things through violation experiments. Through the violation experiment, we were able to recognize the various systems and situations we had to follow, and we were able to gauge the aftermath of breaking them. But in fact, I think that there are definitely people who ignore and violate these regulations, which leads to the collapse of hierarchy and incidental accidents. Therefore, we should stick to the basic principles and be careful not to harm our opponents. In particular, criminals committed crimes in violation of principles, and as these acts became redder, I felt that stronger laws were needed to restrain them.

Week 5 extra) Are students giving gifts to professors trying to bribe them into getting better grades?

Are students giving gifts to professors trying to bride them into getting better grades? Sometimes high school students who need high grades to get into good schools have often been able to bribe their teachers and get high grades. However, almost all of those cases were more likely than the will of students, so I wondered if it would happen even after entering university after becoming an adult. One incident that became an issue in Korea is an exact example of this question. The father of the party used his power to manipulate his child's degree rather than bribing him with great power. Starting with the incident, it created a huge issue in Korea, and more and more people seemed to be paying attention to this. So I sometimes worried about what happens when things like this happen frequently around us in college. Therefore, I think this question is a possible truth.

Week 8 extra) Would you agree that "What attracts people most is other people"?

Would you agree that "What attracts people most is other people"? I think it makes some sense. I think it's a factor enough to draw attention to how others are different from me and how they have the charm. Maybe you get to know new things and are interested in new things by looking at others. It may be a way to think in various ways, knowing that there is someone who has the opposite characteristics of me and myself. So I agree with the question of whether it's someone else that people are most interested in.

Project 4. Extra credit assignment script

Image
Project 4.  Extra credit assignment script If you look at various advertisements, you can often see women advertising products by commercializing them. One example is the most controversial advertisement in Korea called 'Beskin Robbins 31. Baskin Robbins 31 is an ice cream commercial that does not need to be emphasized by women or women's aesthetic elements at all. However, the commercial model was commercialized by using a 13-year-old girl as an advertising model, close-up of dark makeup and lips, and wearing a rather short outfit. Through this advertisement, an indirect message emphasizing makeup or aesthetic elements was delivered to children and was criticized for advertising the product in a completely unrelated manner.  As I said earlier, the advertisement imprinted young children's perceptions of "be pretty" and "makeup from an early age." And through the advertising model that was seen like that, the image of a girl was more imprinted in the wron...

Week 1) What is the relation between Wikipedia and collective intelligence?

What is the relation between Wikipedia and collective intelligence? I think Wikipedia is a close relationship with collective intelligence. Due to the nature of Wikipedia, anyone can provide any information and write related articles.  In writing on a topic you want, you can quote the relevant terms or content directly to provide more content. Therefore, when we look at the characteristics of Wikipedia, we think it is a similar relationship to collective intelligence.

Week 2) What is more important : the actions of individuals or the environment that influences them?

What is more important : the actions of individuals or the environment that influences them? I think the impact on them is more important than individual actions. Even if an individual pledges to act, it is difficult to implement such actions if the surrounding situation is not favorable. I think it depends on the environment in which they are placed, whether they can act. I think such a figure is well shown in the company. A person with a low rank is impracticable if he or she tries to do anything to move in a better direction but is restrained above. I think this image is revealed not only in the company but also in our society. So I think the situation they are in is more important than the individual's actions.

Project 3. Script

Project 3. Script On November 21, after important work, I spent a day without using electronic devices. He did not have a television set because he lived in a dormitory, but did not use his laptop, iPad or cell phone. I already expected it before the experiment, but it was harder to live than I thought. I'm going to pick out some of the many inconveniences.  First of all, it was hard because there was no way to contact. Team projects and meetings were inconceivable and there was no way to contact friends or family. I couldn't use e-mail because I couldn't use my laptop. The only means of contact, "letters," would have been used immediately if the experiment period had been more than a day. There were problems besides simple greetings because I couldn't communicate with anyone. Because I live in a dormitory, I can't order food because I can't use the 'delivery application' to order delivery food often. So I had no choice but to go to the conven...

Project 2. Script

Project 2. Script   Hello, this is Seungyoung Ok in ‘sociology in Everyday life’.   This time, I am going to make a presentation about the change in behavior based on my observation of the dormitory restaurant among public places. Among the various public places, dormitory restaurants have become more carefully visited since covid-19 and have recently become a good place to observe the behavior of many people while eating. So we decided on a dormitory restaurant. Dormitory restaurants are places where not only students but also employees or outsiders living in dormitories can eat. If you buy a meal ticket for a meal without restriction from outsiders, you can have a meal. So I'm going to talk about what I've recorded during a week of visiting different times to observe the people's physical behaviors in the dorm cafeteria. ch   I was able to witness two subsequent behaviors of people entering the dormitory cafeteria. There was a person who came into the restaurant and cho...

Project 1. Script

Project 1. Script  Hello, this is Seungyoung OK in ‘Sociology in Everyday life’.     Today I'm going to make a presentation with a few references to 'Goffman's  aspects  of interaction,' based on my observations of interactions in public. Thinking about the most common interaction space in various public places, I came up with a "café." The cafe is originally a place for selling beverages, and is a place where people visit for various purposes, such as chatting or studying while drinking beverages. So I thought I would be able to see many types of images if I observed the interaction at the cafe.   When I first entered the cafe, many people were already sitting in the cafe doing their own work. Now I'll sort out the people in the cafe and report my observations. Their 'role' was able to see what 'activities' they were doing. A was constantly talking, leaving his laptop on. I could guess telecommuting or online lectures caused by Corona19. ...

Week 8 extra) Which subway stations are good? Which are bad? Why?

Which subway stations are good? Which are bad? Why? I think Seoul station was the best subway station I've ever been to. Seoul Station is not located in a neighborhood where there are many things to play around. However, the subway station and Seoul Station are connected and Lotte Plaza are also connected, so the subway station and the necessary things are very closely connected. And there are more restaurants and desserts than most places because there are many long-distance trips such as traveling by train at Seoul Station. So you can eat any Korean, Chinese, Western, or Japanese food, and there are so many restaurants, so you don't have to wait for a long time. On the contrary, JoongAng Station seems to be in a bad position. There are many things to do near Jungang Station, but the distance to the station is ambiguous and far away, making it difficult to get on the subway easily. So it seems that the opposite conditions of Seoul Station are the central station of Line 4.

Week 8 extra) "Every successful indoor space provides food." Do you agree?

Image
"Every successful indoor space provides food." Do you agree? I agree to some extent. Successful indoor spaces provide even simple snacks and know that they will give other people joy. Even in our school's small academic festival, we prepare snacks and give them out to visitors. No matter how much the budget is insufficient, I think the reason for going through these procedures is because the benefits of these actions are certain. Just as a buffet is prepared at a large party hall, you can always see these foods prepared in a successful indoor place. Therefore, there are some cases where they prepare some food to be successful. I think it is a reasonable opinion considering this situation.

week 5 extra) Imagine you and your family are throwing a party for your family friends in your house. What are the stages?

Image
Imagine you and your family are throwing a party for your family friends in your house. What are the stages? It's exciting to throw a party to my family's friends, but on the other hand, there's a lot to think about and prepare. First, we will decide the whole concept of how to organize the party. Once the concept is established, I will buy some items to decorate with. If you prepare a party with the concept of Christmas, it's like having Christmas trees, stars, light bulbs, hats, etc. Then, I will prepare the food which is at the heart of the party. The food preparation stage changes depending on the menu whether you want to use delivery food or bake yourself. When the food is ready, we will plan what to do at the party as a whole. You have to decide whether to eat and play games or move to another place to enjoy a party together. When I'm done with all this, I'm ready to welcome the guests. Then I think the elements of the party are ready to invite basic guest...

Week 8 extra) Is the Erica campus well designed? Could it be better?

Image
Is the Erica campus well designed? Could it be better? I think our ERICA campus is well designed. First of all, our campus has very large land, so buildings are widely distributed. However, the wide spaces are bored with flowers or sculptures, and I think the sections where buildings and buildings are arranged are appropriate. However, I think our college was not enough when it was installed. The University of Media and Information has to pass through Gyeongsang National University and International Culture University, so it is difficult for many people to find a location even if they use the map. And as I said earlier, our campus is wide overall and there are still plenty of places to spare, so I don't know why only the University of Media and Information is hiding. So our campus is well designated overall, but I think it would have been better if we had deployed a better journalism college.

Project 3. Extra credit blog describing about the assignment

Image
Extra credit blog describing about the assignment In this project, I have lived without electronic devices. First of all, I felt uncomfortable about every detail that I couldn't mention in the project report. Basically, information and communication were carried out through electronic devices, so every little thing was too much. So I couldn't imagine living without electronic devices in my life. However, I realized that electronic devices have swallowed our lives and realized that we need to reduce them little by little. And I think many people should feel through this experiment.

Project 2. Extra credit blog describing about the assignment

Image
Extra credit describing blog about assignment.  Project 2 observed people's behavior and timing of visits in public places. Clearly, people at dorm restaurants were a little different from cafes. The number of people visiting the dormitory restaurant was very different depending on the time and day they visited. So there is break time and during that time there is time to reorganize the restaurant. When visiting a restaurant, the method of selecting seats was very different depending on the person who came alone and the person who was with the group. People who came alone usually enjoyed eating sitting alone in a window seat, but those who were with the group sat at the middle table and talked to them for fun.

Project 1. Extra credit blog describing about the assignment.

Image
Extra credit blog describing about the assignment.  I analyzed people's behavior at the cafe. Corona did not observe many people, but there was a clear difference. Depending on the purpose of visiting the cafe, the project report could be prepared based on the type of visitors. Some people came to study, while others simply came for tea and others visited for dates. Because these objectives are different, the type of visitors also changes according to their purpose. It was fascinating to see those things clearly revealed when I observed people in the cafe.

Week 5 extra) What's the front (setting, appearance and manner) of a TV idol?

What's the front (setting, appearance and manner) of a TV idol? TV idols try to give more interest and joy to the public because it is a job that is shown to others. For that effect, their front faces are usually makeup-conscious about their appearance, and they try to look good and good. Even if something unpleasant happens, try not to harm others by enduring it as much as possible. Such images form a gap between the actual and visible personalities of TV idols. And when it is not shown on TV, it usually appears in front of us in comfortable clothes and comfortable conditions, but when it is active, it appears as neat as possible, everything is in place. In this regard, it can be inferred that TV idols are often hidden from their true selves.

Week 4 extra) What is a drama?

Image
What is a drama? "Drama," which is explained in Goffman's theory, has a very similar meaning to what we think of "drama." The Goffman theory can be summed up as the 'dramatic theory', which is based on the situations, roles, speech, and activities we have in front of others. Such a part appears in the characteristics of the drama. We make some preparations in such activities, situations, and in the front, and behind, all different images take place on the stage of the play. In a word, we can define it as a drama.

Week 2 extra) How do we shape our behaviors because of others?

How do we shape our behaviors because of others? I think it depends greatly on the influence of others when forming an individual's personality. If you live in a state with my basic tendency, you will meet various people, and various changes come in the process. For example, when my outgoing boss hates a noisy atmosphere and prefers a quiet and meticulous style when I do some work, I will try to change my personality accordingly. Such a figure can gradually bring about a change beyond the company's appearance to my basic behavior. The more people who work or have contact with me, the more influences my behavior changes. And such a change may be more influenced by the fact that there are many positive factors than mainly negative ones.
