Blogging Through Sociology of Everday Life (2020)

I think Ansan Culture Plaza is good public space. There is easy to access by using public transit, has streets for pedestrian, and each block has many shops, restaurant...so on. But most popular part of plaza is NC tower I think. NC tower is shopping mall, and I think it is little version of plaza. (Maybe that's why plaza means shopping center too.) There are fashion, aesthetic shops in first floor, and men's section, women section, sports, suit, so on.. in several floor. There are also many restaurants, cafe in food court. it makes people comfortable to rest, take a break in shopping time. Most of all, I think this is most important part. There are theater(CGV). In Ansan, there are not many theaters. So people usually come to here to see movies, and have extra times in NC mall, Culture Plaza. The point that some place have theater is related to feature of Whyte's successful space. The show or The activities. So people are happy to spend time in there.

 Let me indentify elements of sociological dramaturgy in 'MY' last 24 hours. There are front stage , and back stage . The front stage is the zoom space when I participate the lecture. In there, I perform the character of 'Good student'. The back stage  is my private rented room. There is none except me. So I don't have to pretend to be some character. And there is Team. What team is in there? there is group where I belong to, with 3 members of student returnin to college after doing their military service. We share knowledge, tips for doing assignment, lecture, so on. And there also have many Roles. Performer : me / Audiences : other class mates / Service specialist : Professors of my courses ...so on. I'm sorry for this situations, online college life because of COVID-19, that I'm missing so many interactions in everyday life because now days my life is so monotonous, boring.  I often just listen the conversation of next table in cafe, restaurant, pub..etc. But I have never observed other people in attention. It was fun to me doing observation others with my friends. I talk with my friends "What happen next?", "Is he success?" Watching the process of one guy picking up other lady gives us tensions. And I learned there are many interactions that can be explained by Goffman's dramaturgy theory.  So from now on, I'll give more attention about other people's conversations, acts, interactions and substitute theories I learned in this course.
