week9-2. (extra credit) The Whyte’s book The Social Life of Small Urban Spaces.

How much did you read? Did you find it interesting? Difficult? Do you think it is a good book for students of social sciences in the 2020s?  I read the book's parts all that you assigned us. It is difficult and interesting too.  In the 2020s, people are Phono sapiens. People don't pay attention to each other and they only look at their phone. Therefore, I think books that observe and analyze each other's behavior in public situations are good in this era.

Week 8 extra) Would you agree that "What attracts people most is other people"?

Would you agree that "What attracts people most is other people"? I agree with this. Most trend-conscious people want to copy what others do a lot, what they usually wear, what they eat, and even where they go often. This is because he doesn't want to appear to be lagging behind the trend. They also believe that there is a reason for other people's interest and frequent use. Therefore, people prefer to do things that are guaranteed to be safe and satisfactory by using them first. Why do people wait in line to buy new items and go to famous restaurants? Because it is other people who lead people.

Week 8 extra) Which subway stations are good? Which are bad? Why?

Which subway stations are good? Which are bad? Why? Subway stations should be close to the station name first. Subway stations are sometimes named after local landmarks, even if they are quite far from the area. However, it can also cause confusion and inconvenience to people who use the subway. So when naming the subway, it would be better to use a nearby landmark or local name. Also, if there are buses, taxi stops, shopping malls, and restaurants around the station, it will be a much more pleasant subway station. It would be nice to have a place where it is easy to transfer and spend time with the remaining time as there are many floating populations.

Week 8 extra) Is the ERICA campus well designed? Could it be better?

Is the ERICA campus well designed? Could it be better? Hanyang University's erica campus needs three main factors to become a better place. The first is to further develop the commercial street in front of the school. It can be a rich university street by opening a variety of shopping shops as well as restaurants. Second, improvement of wasted land, such as vacant lots in schools. If these places are recreated as parks and welfare facilities, the campus will be much more pleasant. Finally, the subway station in front of the Erica campus will be opened. The station  ' Hanyang Univ. at Ansan'  is too far to be in front of the university. If there is a subway station right in front of the school, accessibility will be much better.

Week 8 extra) "Shops are important for liveliness and the additional pedestrian flows they attract." Can we think of places that should have more stores? Would the campus be better if it had more shopping places?

"Shops are important for liveliness and the additional pedestrian flows they attract." Can we think of places that should have more stores? Would the campus be better if it had more shopping places? A place where more shops should be built is an example in front of the university, just like our school. There are quite a few cheap and delicious restaurants in front of our school, but it is hard to find a shopping mall that sells things like household goods, cosmetics, and clothes. Even if there is, there is really no case of selling things that students prefer. there is really no case of selling things that students prefer. In college life, students (especially students living in schools) often have to buy things they need urgently in front of the school, but there is no sign of entering a store that can meet this need.  If various shopping shops are located in front of the university, students will be able to have a more satisfying college life, and  the university streets th

Week 8. Which subway stations are good? Which are bad? Why?

Which subway stations are good? Which are bad? Why? First, subway stations should be related to station names. Because it can confuse people. I also think that the closer the position is, the better. Second, subway stations should be close to apartment complexes. Because people can use it a lot. Finally, it would be better if there were many other means of transportation and shops around the subway station.

WEEK 8. Is the ERICA campus well designed? Could it be better?

Image
It is true that the school looks good on the outside. And I know that I received an award related to design. But from the perspective of the student attending the school, the school is too wide. In other words, there are a lot of wasted land. The building is too wide between it and nothing exists between it. Design should also consider practical aspects, but the structure of the school does not.

Week 8 extra) "Every successful indoor space provides food." Do you agree?

"Every successful indoor space provides food." Do you agree? I agree to some extent. Most of the places, often called "hot places," are often restaurants or cafes. In some cases, the place is not necessarily a restaurant, but around these hot places, restaurants selling delicious food are surrounded. Also, there are many food shops in apartment complexes and places where large companies are located. There are also frequent cases of several shops entering a building, and restaurants are often lined up like food alleys. In other words, most successful indoor spaces, places where people often go and buy, provide food.

Week 8. Is the ERICA campus well designed? Could it be better?

Is the ERICA campus well designed? Could it be better? Hanyang University's Erica campus is flat and has beautiful landscaping, which is good for taking a walk.  But the distance between the school and the subway station is too far. If the subway station is closer, it will be easier for students to commute to school.  And there are many restaurants around the school, but there are not many stores for household goods or cosmetics. Students would be a little more convenient if there were various stores.

Week 8. "Every successful indoor space provides food." Do you agree?

"Every successful indoor space provides food." Do you agree? People's lives are deeply related to 'food.' So I agree. Food is everywhere in the food everywhere. When people go on a trip, they start by looking for good restaurants. The most successful indoor space is where people often go to buy or provide food.

extra) Another example of Idealization

For example, students will try to conceal their lack of interest in the subject they are studying. What other examples of idealization can we think of?   School Students chat on their laptops, nodding their heads and pretending to listen to class. In real-time online classes, students take classes while eating, but pretend to listen attentively and answer hard. Bus On a hard day, people want to sit on the seats of the elderly and the weak. But when the elderly come next to them, they laugh and give up their seats. Friends Sometimes people don't understand their friends' worries. However, they also pretend to comfort their friends for friendship and trust.

extra) What's the front (setting, appearance and manner) of a TV idol?

What's the front (setting, appearance and manner) of a TV idol?  The front or the mask is a standardized, generalizable and transferable technique for the performer to control the manner in which the audience perceives him or her.   So,   The idol's front setting includes a waiting room, a practice room, and a stage. This is because idols film contents for fans not only on stage but also in practice rooms and waiting rooms.    Idols' appearance is everything we can see. Clothes, accessories, shoes, looks, bodies, everything is made for broadcasting.  Their gestures and facial expressions are also part of front manners.  Not all the circumstances were fabricated, but because everything goes on with some script.

W4. Extra ) the Interaction Assignment

I had an Interaction Assignment activity with my companion and observed the responses of pedestrians on the road. Through the observations and reflections of Goffman's theory, we find that "no matter what the specific goal an individual has in his mind or what the motivation for achieving it, his interest is always to control the behavior of others, especially the reactions of others to him."This control will be achieved primarily by a restriction that affects others gradually, and he can express himself in some way by giving others an impression that he will lead others to act on their own will."This is what we call impression management. The process of human communication is the process in which people perform "self", but this "self" is not the real self, but the "self" dressed up in symbolic disguise.

W4. Extra ) What is drama?

"Drama" refers to the art of stage performance that achieves the narrative in the form of language, action, dance, music, puppetry, etc."The concept of a literary drama refers to a script, or play, created for a theatrical performance. Drama brings together many art forms, one standard, which includes poetry, music, and dance.Poetry refers to literature, music, and dance to performance. It also includes stage arts, costumes, and makeup. At the same time, the basic means of singing, reciting, doing and fighting are to bring together almost all kinds of performing arts in one. Drama consists of four elements: "actors," "story (context), "stage (performance venue)," and "audience.""Actress" is the most important element of the four. He is the voice of the character."It is necessary to be able to act. The greatest difference between drama and other art is that it is to play, and the role in the play can be extended through the
