[Week 8 Extra] Is the ERICA campus well designed? Could it be better?

I think Erica campus is one of the poorly designed ones. 

First of all, the land on campus is very large, so the distance between the buildings is relatively far compared to other campuses. From the perspective of students taking classes at various places, it may be a little difficult to move. In addition, most of the buildings are low, so it is tired to walk on a wide flat surface in hot summer due to lack of shade on campus. However, I think it would be difficult to hope for improvement because it is hard to move the building.

And I think each building has no sense of unity in its design and appearance, and our school lacks its own characteristics. It will be a much better-looking campus if you get rid of the feeling of old buildings and remodel them into a more modern feeling. I think it is also a good idea to give each college and school facilities a sophisticated feel.

The Interaction Assignment. What did you do? What did you learn? Was it fun?  I conducted a Breaching experiment for project 1. I was in a situation where I couldn't carry out my observations face-to-face. So I did an experiment using Kakao Talk, and this was the difference from Goffman. I broke the promise of my relationship with my friend through Kakao Talk. I replied coldly and badly to my friend(participant), who always exchanged friendly words. And my friend thought I had a complaint or something was wrong. It was the same view that Goffman looked at individuals who broke the rules in society. Week4) Review about my Interaction Assignment

  The place I have been observed is a café. The café involves a few tables and chairs. It is well designed for the outsiders to get interested.  When I was there, two kinds of people were in this place. They were the clerk and the customers.    The clerk welcomed the visitors politely and made some beverage and dessert. She was in smile for all the time facing the customers and mostly dressed in tidy clothes. After she got the orders, she stayed in the kitchen, which is staff only, taking a rest and looking at the CCTV occasionally. A few hours later, the other clerk got into the kitchen for the rotation.    Besides, in the main room of the café, the customers sit around the tables. Week 1. (extra) Why are you taking this class?

 Why are you taking this class? Sociology naturally occurs in people's lives. However, I didn't have many opportunities to think about what sociology is and how it works in our lives. As  the title of this class, I was curious and wanted to learn about the sociology of everyday life.  I am used to passive learning until I come to college, so I have a fear of active learning. But this class seems to have more active learning, so I think I can change myself from pursuing passive learning. What PRACTICAL SKILLS do you expect to gain from attending it? I just got information from Wikipedia, but I've never participated in Wikipedia myself. Through this class, I want to participate in writing in Wikipedia and get writing skills.
